The San Francisco Girls Chorus will be singing, among many other things, the song I wrote for them inspired by the annual journey of the herring from fresh to salt water and back again. (Really, it’s about community, society, ancestral knowledge and individual will.) It’s taking place at the New York Philharmonic’s 2016 Biennial Festival at the Lincoln Center in NYC. The whole program looks utterly inspired, and the SFGC is a sound to behold, so if you are close, by all means, GO!
